The goal of PBIS is to makes schools effective and efficient and provide equitable learning environments for all students. Decreasing aggressive conduct and bullying can occur through improving culture and climate, building relationships with students and staff, changing academic outcomes and increasing prosocial behaviors. The mission of PBIS is to support school teams via training and technical assistance as they take a proactive systems approach for creating and maintaining a safe and positive school environment.
West Virginia Early Childhood Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (WV ECPBIS) promotes the Pyramid Model through evidence-based, early childhood social emotional and inclusive practices in early childhood educational settings. The West Virginia Behavior/Mental Health Technical Assistance Center works with all public school systems in WV to provide training and technical assistance related to: behavior and strategies, trauma informed schools, and mental health needs of students.
